Lighten Up

Whilst we’re not predicting the end of the dark wall trend, its grip on the interiors world is certainly loosening, with steely greys being steadily replaced by lighter, creamier tones.

“Attention to detail is key with neutral interiors – the smallest change makes the world of difference when you’re working within a narrow palette. Layering hand-crafted, natural textures and finishes brings warmth to your scheme, while interesting shapes create movement and rhythm when juxtaposed against pale walls”.  Founder Peter Bowles.

Influencer Dee Campling – who used our Hatton pendant in her living room – explains, “If, like me, you’re a fan of neutrals, the way to prevent them looking soulless is to pile on the textures. Add jute, wood, linen, chunky wool, rattan – and of course, bone china!”

Bone china is an ideal material to use in neutral schemes, thanks to its translucency, luminosity and versatility – think the glossy tiered discs of our Cranton, the organic waves of our Christie, the neat ribbing of our Fin pendants, the multifaceted geometric lines of our Hatton collection and the dramatic scale of our Drop Groupings.

“Sculptural when switched off, the shades come to life when switched on, each disc, wave and facet interacting with the light within to create mesmerising lines and shadows.”  Director Charlie Bowles.
